Construction Job

Hey guys Here's my Weight Lift assignment from school. It's a guy working in construction, First Time using constraints and such in Maya. So he's worker in house construction and needs to get an I-beam up out of the area and to ground level (which is represented by the shelf) so that more excavation can occur.

Sculpting with a Video!

So I doodled a dragon, thought it would be fun to sculpt so I did a quick sculpt and polypaint.
And dragons fly so I rotated him and placed an image layer behind him. Like Mew I started from a Dynamesh sphere from the lightbox. anyway here's the link to my video of it.

One More Beer - my attempt

Hey I'm back with some more sculpting! I've been super busy the last week coming up with this!
I learned Maya's nHair when maya couldn't handle a geo based on the FiberMesh and I'm glad cause now I have another skill under my belt. At the time I was going insane with frustration cause I did teach myself through some trial and error. I mean look at that hair in the 3rd top image in that compilation. that hair is majestic. otherwise I got tons of things out of this project and wish it just showed better in the final render.

Below is my Zbrush Sculpt I did of the viking, I used a few material types that didn't transfer to maya either, I spoke to my instructor and I will be looking at maya's mib_grayball shaders. If you're wondering where his legs are it's because they're not shown in the shot and I like to be as efficient as possible....... not because I'm lazy. lol

Mew!

Looking for something to sculpt quickly I went straight to pokemon and after learning of the extra 500 or so pokemon, I picked Mew! I had a lot of fun, the tail I'm not happy with, but whatever. took me about 45 minutes to an hour of actual work, I'm also watching BBC's Sherlock. I learned more about the movie palette; like every time it renders a video it just loads them into a film, so you can do a Time Lapse followed by a turntable but it seems to only do one turn so probably click that a few times, and then a backwards workflow for no reason! and the just export as a .mov file. I don't know about you but I think that's F*ing awesome.

So anyway just a straight up Mew. My ref image supplied a cool albeit stretched BG.
Sadly I spent way more time getting the video ready than doing the model, I think I'm going to start using Vimeo. cause then I can post my

Feel the Bump

 ........Bump mapping :-D
Given the scene file from 3drender.com 's lighting and texturing challenge. I came up with this. Learned a lot while doing this and I hope there is an obvious progression in skill between my first shot and the second. It was long and at times tedious but I am proud of what came out of it.

First Z brush Sculpture

So I've been learning Zbrush through digital tutors and watching speed sculpting. this is my first attempt but I started with a Dynamesh sphere for the fighter, and appended the stand as a bit of a last minute thought. A lot of it was me just clicking on things and seeing what happens. I'm going to do some anatomy sculpting because I'm not happy with it here.

A City in The Mountains

I developed an idea for a glowing city in a snowy location. I always enjoyed the Nordic mythologies and Fantasy novels Like Game of Thrones and Lord of The Rings, and the video game Skyrim's setting , not actually a fan the game itself but the environments are AMAZING!

I'm still planning to add texture to the large pieces of the base structures, I also wanted to imply the city continues into the mountain but it does fall off in the tonal....

Layout Assignment for First year Animation

This is the first layout I drew for class when I got into Animation, the assignment asked us to tell a story with a kitchen setting. My kitchen's owners happen to have three kids who are all part of  hockey teams of varying levels. Anybody who is or knows someone who is in this situation knows that they're always running around, and take-out food is their friend.

Next I used it in a Digital Painting assignment where we also had to place a character in the layout and make it believable.

Digital Paint of a Car

Did a rough sketch

this is halfway through the process....

....and finally after consulting my instructor I did a lot of altering and this was the final product
I'm proud of it, Done Oct.2012

Bor Maquette Part 3 it's smashtastic!

Moving out to fleshing Bor out i have textured his beard, added the right arm's armour

to create some action in the sculpture i baked a sheet of sculpt, smashed it and stuck the shards into the thin layer of sculpt to make it look as though Bor has slammed this creature with a great force into the ground.

Now I'm comfortable enough to go on and prime my sculpt.

Now I will pick up some paint and add some more life to Bor

And Bam! This is where I chose to move onto the next project. I learned a lot and hope this isn't the last time I sculpt something, lots of fun.
